The PRESIDENT —I have received seven messages from the House of Representatives forwarding resolutions relating to the formation of committees for concurrence. Copies of the messages have been circulated in the chamber.

  Motion (by Senator Faulkner)—by leave—agreed to:

  That except for the message relating to the proposed Joint Committee on the National Capital and External Territories the messages be considered immediately.

  Motion (by Senator Faulkner) agreed to:

  (1)That the Senate concurs with the resolutions of the House of Representatives as contained in messages Nos 24 to 28 and 30, relating to the appointment of the following joint committees—

Corporations and Securities

National Crime Authority

Electoral Matters

Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade

Migration

Certain Family Law Issues.

  (2)That this resolution be communicated to the House of Representatives by message.

  Ordered that consideration of the message relating to the proposed Joint Committee on the National Capital and External Territories be made an order of the day for the next day of sitting.
