Senator ARCHER —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate notes, with dismay, the double talk of the Minister for Transport and Communications (Senator Collins) who, while claiming a productivity improvement of 127 per cent, improved turn around time of 45 per cent, improved container rates of 56 per cent, cuts in the work force of 57 per cent and stevedoring contract rate cuts of 20 to 30 per cent, fails:

(a)to explain why there have been two increases, each of 5 to 10 per cent, within 6 months for Bass Strait freight, and

(b)to give any indication of where these enormous paper savings are disappearing to.
