Senator CRICHTON-BROWNE —by leave—Yes, I propose—I am not foreshadowing an amendment—that we refer the matter back to the Procedure Committee, not for the purpose of frustrating the intention of the Government but simply to have it further examined to see whether this is the most effective and beneficial way of saving time. If we examine how much time will be saved, it really is a nonsense. Perhaps there are other more effective ways whereby we can all cooperate to ensure that legislation passes through in a way which is efficient.
