To the Honourable the President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:

The petition of the undersigned shows:

We the undersigned citizens respectfully submit that Australia should retain the current National Flag which has flown over the country since Federation. This flag

  symbolises the world's oldest democracy

represents our history, our culture and our language

enjoys the support of the vast majority of the Australian people

symbolises the sacrifice of our armed servicemen and women

  Your petitioners therefore request that:

Australia should retain the current national flag.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
