Senator TATE (Minister for Justice) (12.25 a.m.) —On that occasion, Senator Teague indicated that he was going to ask questions in relation to these matters point by point. I was briefed to respond. He did not ask the questions in the committee stage of that debate.

Senator Short —There was a misunderstanding.

Senator TATE —There may have been a misunderstanding, but we were ready to respond fairly comprehensively to the various points. If we can deal with the matters together, we will, but I do not want to leave it on the record that we ignored Senator Teague's request. We understand that there has been a misunderstanding as to the timing of the response. We will respond—this side of Christmas, I hope.
