Senator POWELL —by leave-I present to the Senate a petition from 227 petitioners, which is not in conformity with the Standing Orders as it is not in the correct form, requesting that military spending be reduced and those savings be allocated to overseas aid, social welfare and environmental protection.

To Honourable Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives in Parliament Assembled:

Your Petitioners urge that military spending be reduced with the savings to be allocated to overseas aid, social welfare and environmental protection.

Our slogans are: No Nuclear Tests, Less Money for Weapons, More Money for People and the Environment, Disarmament for Development.
