To The Honourable The President and members of the Senate assembled in Parliament. The humble petition of certain citizens of Australia draws to the attention of the Senate our deep concern for the future of our environment.

Your petitioners therefore ask that stricter laws and penalties be drawn up and enforced to:

Protect and conserve forests

Control mining our resources

Minimise industrial pollution, and

Cleanse waterways and oceans.

We humbly request that programs be introduced to educate the public to:

Recycle waste products

Conserve energy

Use alternative energy resources, and

Conserve and replant forests.

We, the students of Marymount Primary School, agree to take responsibility for our school and home environments, and we charge you, as our elected representatives to protect our natural heritage.
