Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(3.04) —by leave-I move:

That the Senate take note of the statement.

I do not wish to debate the matter at this stage except to say that, as is inevitable with these things in this building, there are rumours about how this occurrence came about. On behalf of the Opposition I thank you, Mr President, for your investigations to date. If some of those rumours could be turned into hard facts we might have quite an interesting debate in this place. I will not seek leave to continue my remarks; however, I move:

That the debate be adjourned till the next day of sitting and be made an Order of the Day to be considered together with General Business Order of the Day No. 91 standing in the name of Senator Chaney, relating to the same subject.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
