Senator COULTER(10.40) —The Australian Democrats will also not be supporting the second reading amendment moved by the Opposition but for reasons quite different from those just outlined by Senator Button. Clearly, Senator Button was foreshadowing a move towards greater privatisation. That was the substance of my address in the second reading stage of the debate. Subsequently, after the defeat of this amendment, we will be moving our own amendment. I foreshadow that now because we believe that both the Government and the Opposition are moving in the wrong direction. There should be no doctrinaire ideological commitment to privatisation as expressed by the Government and the Opposition.
