Senator GARETH EVANS (Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade)(11.01) —It is difficult to pick up the threads of a debate when I have just come into the chamber, but this is not an issue that is squarely given rise to by the terms of either the substantive clause before us or the amendment. No doubt the debate has taken a fascinating course over the last half hour or so. I will take on notice the matter that Senator Alston has raised and I will ensure that the Department and Australia Post have a look at it. It probably does raise some interesting public policy questions. We can have a look at it in the longer course, but this is not the time to be doing it right now.
