Senator BROWNHILL —My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Transport and Communications. Senator Button answered a question earlier in Question Time regarding industrial action, existing and impending, by air pilots and air traffic controllers. I think everyone in this chamber and everywhere else in Australia surely realises the damage that that is doing to the aviation industry and to the people who travel in aeroplanes in Australia. Can the Minister tell the Senate whether these disputes are caused by lack of air traffic controllers, lack of effective radar equipment or antiquated radar equipment, to which Senator Evans alluded in answering a question asked by Senator Teague a few moments ago, or pilots worrying about the safety standards at our airports? What is the Government doing about it?

Senator GARETH EVANS —Anything I say on the subject is likely to be taken down and used in evidence against either me or the Government and would probably add further to the anxieties all around the place. I will take that question on notice rather than--

Senator Boswell —Have a go.

Senator GARETH EVANS —I thank Senator Boswell, but no.
