Senator BUTTON (Leader of the Government in the Senate) —I seek leave to make a statement about ministerial arrangements.

Leave granted.

Senator Puplick —Can we debate it?

Senator BUTTON —Of course. I always give leave if it is wanted, but I would hope for a less vacuous contribution than the last one. I inform the Senate that Senator Reynolds is still incapacitated by a back injury and will be absent from the chamber for the next two weeks. Any questions which would normally be directed to Senator Reynolds in her capacity as Minister for Local Government or Minister representing the Minister for Veterans' Affairs should be directed to Senator Ray. Those which would be directed to her in her capacity as Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women should be directed to me.
