Senator ROBERT RAY (Manager of Government Business in the Senate)(10.18) —by leave-I move:

That, unless otherwise ordered, the Sessional Order relating to the hours of meeting of the Senate for this day be varied to provide for the question for the adjournment of the Senate to be put at 10.30 p.m.

There have been some discussions around the chamber to delay the Corporations Bill 1988 from Monday to Tuesday to Wednesday until today. It is probably necessary, unfortunately, to put in a little harder work today than we normally have to. I point out that we will be sitting through the dinner break. There is a general agreement that divisions will not be called during the period from 6.30 to 8 p.m. Any consequential divisions will occur immediately after 8 p.m. Those who are leaving the building, please be back at 8 p.m.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
