To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled: We, the undersigned,

(i) are alarmed that many sporting, cultural and community groups have been made to feel that they can attract sponsorship only from promoters of unhealthy products;

(ii) call for a National Health Promotion Foundation to be established through an increase in tobacco excise of 10 cents per packet; and

(iii) urge that the National Health Promotion Foundation provide national sporting, cultural and community groups with alternative sponsorship funding so that these groups can flourish without the taint of accepting money from tobacco companies and assisting in the promotion of their unhealthy products.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
