To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled: the humble petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

That we deplore the proposed Bill of Rights because it adversely affects areas of the liberty and freedom of Australians. It will operate against:

The States and our Federal system of Government

Criminal Justice

The Police

Education

Families

Employer/Employee relations

It will remove the power of the people through Parliament, by giving power to a new more powerful Human Rights Commission which is not elected, but can act as a Star Chamber. We do most earnestly wish to keep our system of Common Law.

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that the Senate in Parliament assembled should reject this Bill. And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
