Senator WALTERS —I direct my question to the Minister representing the Minister for Aviation. During the consideration of the Appropriation Bills last week I was assured that I would get an answer to a question I asked before I left this place tomorrow. One of the urgent problems confronting the Tasmanian apple and pear industry is the limited availability of cheap air freight facilities to overseas markets. Is it a fact that overseas owned freight aircraft, which regularly bring goods into Australia, fly out without full loads? Is this practice being pursued in order to protect the interests of Qantas Airways Ltd?

Senator GRIMES —I have perused Senator Gietzelt's brief and I am afraid that I cannot find the information which Senator Walters requires. However, this is an important matter. I will endeavour to obtain the information before Senator Walters leaves here tomorrow evening-indeed, I hope before all of us leave here tomorrow evening.
