Senator WALSH (Minister for Finance)(11.08) —I would not know. Senator Walters should find that out from her own Party. I do not know the sources of the Opposition's funds. I said that the normal practice was for the departments to pay for official entertainment-official entertainment being that which is recognised as being on behalf of not just the Government but the nation. There may be occasions on which individual Ministers pay for some entertaining. I have done it under particular circumstances which I do not intend to go into. It has not been claimed as a tax deduction. Under the new tax arrangements, any entertainment of that nature by a Minister in the future will not be allowable as a deduction either.
