Senator REID(9.19) —I wonder whether we can be told what criteria the Australian Education Council has taken into account in coming to that extraordinary decision, having gone to the trouble to take nurses out of hospitals to give them tertiary training. The Canberra College of Advanced Education is a very well respected, competent institution. This course has a very high science component-the same science subjects that are taught in the other degree courses at the college. Why is this nurse training course being downgraded to the status of a diploma course? What is the point of it all if they cannot do better than that?
