Senator BUTTON —Earlier in Question Time Senator Teague asked me about some comments attributed to the Treasurer, Mr Keating, in Melbourne. I said that I would consult the Treasurer's speech. The paragraph which seems to me to be most relevant to Senator Teague's question is at the bottom of page 6. It states, in relation to superannuation:

There has been much uniformed and alarmist talk on this matter and the Government is concerned to ensure that a constructive process of dialogue takes place in a calm and rational environment.

I do not know what else in that speech Senator Teague could have been referring to but of course it would be inappropriate for me to comment on interpretations or other scuttlebutt. If I can obtain a copy of any other text that might substantiate that matter I will seek an answer from the Treasurer.
