Senator MASON —Madam Temporary Chairman, I claim to have been misrepresented by the previous speaker and I seek leave to make a personal explanation.

Leave granted.

Senator MASON —Senator Dame Margaret Guilfoyle is very good. She has seven-league boots and she really jumps over logical arguments at great speed. What I did say, as I recall it, was that if there was a dispute over the appropriations the Australian Democrats would consider amendments to the Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Bill. Supply, as Senator Dame Margaret Guilfoyle as an ex-Finance Minister should understand, is covered by Appropriation Bill (No. 1), which is a different Bill from the one we are debating at this time. I just wanted to make the point quite clearly. She seems to have her Bills a little mixed up.
