Senator LEWIS(12.13) —The Opposition sees considerable merit in the Australian Democrats' proposal and asks that the Government consider it at some stage, but recognises that this is a decision for the Government, as to whether it will adopt this measure. If the Democrats are unable to persuade the Government to adopt it, the Opposition would not be prepared to impose such a financial burden on this Government.
