Senator REID(6.06) —This is a matter, I should think, of some interest to those who have been on the island for 30 years. I can find no reference in Appropriation Bill (No. 1) 1985-86 which indicates that provision has been made to pay out the lease for the items of property on the island. If the lease is to be terminated on 31 December, I would have thought that one would be able to find in this year's estimates the amount of money expected to be paid out. If that is not the case, I would think the lessees are entitled to have the lease extended, at least until such time as they receive the money to which they will obviously be entitled. It ought to be possible to know now whether the allocation is in this year's estimates.
