Senator PARER —Is the Minister representing the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations aware of a report that Australia's four major transport companies have received a telex from the Transport Workers Union demanding assent to a superannuation deal by 13 December under threat of industrial action from that date? What action will the Government take to thwart such blatant industrial blackmail, which runs counter to its own position on the timing of the introduction of new superannuation arrangements?

Senator WALSH —I was asked whether I was aware of a telex allegedly sent by the Transport Workers Union. The answer is no, I am not aware of it. I will refer the rest of the question to Mr Willis for comment and reply.
