Senator MICHAEL BAUME —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate notes with concern-

(a) the 2.6 per cent rise in the underlying inflation rate in the September quarter national accounts, as measured by the implicit price deflator for non-farm gross domestic product, which is the highest quarterly rise in inflation for almost three years and represents a rate far higher than the target of 7 per cent on which the 1985-86 Budget is based; and

(b) the fall in the household savings ratio revealed in the national accounts, to only 11.3 per cent, the lowest level for 13 years.
