Senator GRIMES (Minister for Community Services)(11.01) —That comes under my Department of Community Services, but that does not matter. The disability legislation is in preparation at the moment. My intention-I am sure that intention will be carried out-is that new legislation will be introduced in the autumn session. It will be presented to this Parliament and certainly more than adequate time will be given to allow organisations, disabled people and members of Parliament to discuss the implications of that legislation. It is my hope that it will be innovative legislation and that it will, in fact, set an environment whereby we can achieve what we all want to achieve, one in which the disabled have much more say in their own affairs and a much greater capacity to live fuller lives. The time-table is well on the way and, in fact, I expect to receive the first draft report on the legislation within the next few weeks.
