Senator BOSWELL —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) notes that the Federal Government's proposed fringe benefits tax will cost Queensland mining companies $20m per year;

(b) condemns the Federal Labor Government for adding unwarranted costs to mining companies at a time when international mineral markets are extremely competitive and Australia's balance of payments in November 1985 is $1,600m `in the red'; and

(c) expresses concern that this tax will act to reduce the living standards of people in the isolated and decentralised areas of Queensland.
