To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned citizens of the Commonwealth of Australia respectfully showeth;

That the Hawke Government's intention to impose a Tax on Fringe Benefits, and so increase the level of Taxation in Australia, will impose an unnecessary and harsh burden on many companies, a burden that could have an adverse effect on employment.

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that the Hawke Government will abandon this unfair and potentially job destructive tax.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
