Senator SIDDONS(12.16) —Senator Walsh keeps coming back to the point that has been debated and debated. We insist that the Parliament must have control over the Government's ability to raise money. How it spends its money is a separate issue, but this is not a standard piece of legislation. It is not of no consequence as the Minister for Finance keeps trying to tell us. It will control the Government's fund raising ability. As such, the motion that I have just moved will stop that being automatic and will force the Government to come to the Parliament each year to indicate what money it is raising and from where it is raising it.
