Senator Colston asked the Minister representing the Minister for Communications, upon notice, on 20 August 1985:

(1) Which post offices have opened in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory since 3 May 1983 and on what date did each office commence operations.

(2) Which post offices have permanently closed in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory since 3 May 1983 and when did each closure occur.

(3) Which post offices in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory have been renamed since 3 May 1983; what were their original names; when was each office renamed; and what are the new names.


Senator Walsh —The Minister for Communications has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question, based on information provided by the Australian Postal Commission:
