Senator PETER BAUME(9.14) —This had been a cognate debate. The Opposition wishes to support one Bill and oppose the other. Would it be convenient for the Senate to put the two second reading questions separately?


The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT (Senator MacGibbon) —Is it the wish of the Senate that the questions for the second reading of these Bills be put separately? There being no objection, it is so ordered.

Question put:

That the Student Assistance (Loans Guarantee and Subsidy) Repeal Bill 1985 be read a second time.
