Senator WALSH (Minister for Finance)(6.08) —I will be very brief. We have had the debate on this Bill. I just want to make it quite clear that I know what the effect of this amendment will be. If it is carried the Bill is dead. There was an interjection a while ago that that would be on my head. It will not be on my head. It will be on the heads of those who vote against the Bill, if they should get a majority. They can explain to the 300,000-odd contributors of the Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme why they have killed this reform in the Senate which is clearly wanted by the majority.
