Senator MacGIBBON(6.24) —Mr Chairman, I wish to make a personal explanation under standing order 410. During the second reading debate of the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation Amendment Bill 1985 on Wednesday of last week Senator Tate followed my speech and made the allegation that I used the expression `very seedy management' about the management of the Corporation.

The CHAIRMAN —Order! Senator MacGibbon, this explanation should not be made in Committee. Do you seek leave?

Senator MacGIBBON —I thought it was an appropriate time because this is the first opportunity we have had to come back to this question and it is a relevant matter.

The CHAIRMAN —If leave is granted, you may do it. Is leave granted?

Senator Button —I would be happy to grant leave in a minute if Senator Archer could repeat the question he asked a minute ago about superannuation. I am trying to obtain an answer and I could do that while Senator MacGibbon is making his tortuous explanation.

Senator Archer —I asked what contingency there is for the covering of superannuation and redundancy.
