Senator SIDDONS(11.08) —I was most concerned to hear the comments of Senator Georges in tabling the report of the Joint Committee of Public Accounts on Medical Fraud and Overservicing in regard to Pathology. He spent some considerable time in instancing the case of a medical practitioner, well known to the medical profession, who had used standover tactics and all kinds of illegal devices to defraud the public. Senator Georges further said that in his opinion it was in the public interest that this person be named. We have heard also from the Opposition that there are one or two bad apples in the medical profession who are giving the whole profession a bad reputation. In view of these comments, I ask Senator Georges whether he will name the medical practitioner to whom he was referring.

Debate (on motion by Senator Sheil) adjourned.
