Senator KILGARIFF —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate, In view of the conclusions reached by the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University, in its study of the defence implications of a railway from alice springs to Darwin, and the preliminary report on the economic viability of such a railway which has been prepared by Canadian Pacific Consulting Services Ltd, calls upon the Government to undertake a further inquiry into the viability of a railway from Alice Springs to Darwin, taking into account its defence implications and the findings of both the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre report and the Canadian Pacific Report.
