Senator WALTERS —I seek leave to make a short statement in relation to information which Senator Ryan gave me.

Leave granted.

Senator WALTERS —A short time ago, Senator Ryan made known the results of her inquiry which were that some members of Caucus did receive the interim report on the affirmative action pilot program before the rest of the Senate. It was not until I complained that the rest of the Senate had not received the report that, as she said today, the rest of the Senate got the report. Senator Ryan did not answer my question as to why this was so and on whose direction it was done. That was the emphasis of my question. It is not right that some members of the Senate should receive Government reports earlier than other honourable senators. I lodge a very strong complaint regarding Senator Ryan's portfolio.
