Senator SHORT —I seek leave to make a brief statement in response to information given by Senator Walsh, for which I thank him.

Leave granted.

Senator SHORT —I thank Senator Walsh for his information that, first of all, the Commonwealth Police are investigating this matter concerning Dollar Sweets Co. Pty Ltd. As I understand it, legal advices have gone to the Government and others today about this matter. I do wish to comment on Senator Walsh's correct statement to the effect that mobile telephone lines have been installed at the Dollar Sweets company. That is so. However, the reason they have been installed is that the relevant Telecom union has refused to take action to restore the normal services. The mobile telephone lines provided for the company are not listed lines. No customer or any other person can obtain the number. As a result, despite the existence of those lines, for all practical purposes there is no telephonic communication available to that company or, more particularly, to its customers. For that reason, the company cannot receive any business. Therefore, the point of my question is not in any way altered by the information which Senator Walsh provided, but I thank him for it.
