To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate of the Australian Parliament in Canberra assembled.

The petition of certain citizens respectfully showeth-

That currently pharmaceutical companies are not automatically liable for damage or death caused by their products and individuals attempting to obtain just compensation from these companies are disadvantaged by having to take legal action against multinational corporations.

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray-

1. Appropriate legislation be formulated so that pharmaceutical companies are made automatically liable for damage or death caused by their products which will obviate the need for the adversary system in law.

2. Appropriate legislation be formulated to ensure open enquiry in cases of medical incompetence or negligence leading to death or injury.

3. Appropriate legislation be formulated to allow relatives or ``next friends'' access to medical records in cases of injury or death resulting from medical incompetence or negligence.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
