Senator COONEY(10.29) —I would like to say a few words about this subject because in the late 1970s I was a member of the Victorian Council for Civil Liberties when it was set in great turmoil when one of the most prominent members denied the history of the holocaust. In light of that I believe this is a motion which deserves most emphatic support. I congratulate Senator Peter Baume for moving it. The motion deserves support firstly because of the end it achieves in acknowledging an horrific event in history.
