Senator PUPLICK —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) notes that this day, 22 August 1985, is the 500th anniversary of the death of King Richard III, last Yorkist and Plantagenet King of England, cruelly slain by his usurping enemies on Bosworth Field;

(b) acknowledges the great achievements of that monarch as a reformer of the law, a wise administrator, a patron of the arts, a bibliophile and promoter of the publishing industry; and

(c) convinced of his innocence of the charges laid against him by Tudor propagandists, commends his memory.
