Senator ARCHER(12.44) —I move:

(6) Page 26, clause 71, sub-clause (1), line 39, leave out 'does not apply' and insert ''shall be deemed to have been complied with and the information deemed to have been given before the contract was entered into''.

This was deemed to be desirable because it would provide an exemption from the notification provisions where a broker acts for the insured. It is merely a drafting amendment to ensure that the words of clause 71 accurately reflect the language and provisions that it provides in the exemption. Such an amendment would ensure that there was no argument that the exemption applied as intended.
