Senator Townley asked the Minister representing the Minister for Aviation, upon notice, on 1 March 1984:

Will the Minister for Aviation table a transcript of the communications and attempted communications between aircraft VH-WJC and all other stations from 1450 hours on 17 July 1983 until it was known the aircraft had ditched in Bass Strait.


Senator Gietzelt —The Minister for Aviation has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

A transcript of the communications and attempted communications between aircraft VH-WJC and all other stations from 1450 hours on 17 July 1983 until it was known the aircraft had ditched in Bass Strait was tabled in the Senate by Senator Button on 28 March 1984. This transcript commences at 1505 hours; there were no communications recorded from the aircraft between 1450 hours and 1505 hours.
