Senator PRIMMER —My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Finance. When can I expect a reply to my question of 1 November 1983 concerning allegations of a retirement racket involving the former head of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Sir Nicholas Parkinson? Will the Minister inquire whether Sir Nicholas holds a current driver's licence and, if he does, what was the date of his last eye examination?

Senator WALSH —In response to the first part of Senator Primmer's question, I cannot tell him the date on which the Minister will provide an answer to his question. I shall contact the Minister for Finance to ascertain whether he will provide an answer and, if so, when. As to whether Sir Nicholas Parkinson holds a current driver's licence and the date on which he had his last eye test, I do not have the faintest idea. I do not think that question falls within the scope of the Minister for Finance, either.
