Senator Archer asked the Minister for Resources and Energy, upon notice, on 29 November 1983:

(1) What new authorities, committees, bureaus, or other such groups: (a) have been established; or (b) are proposed, by or within this department, since 5 March 1983.

(2) How many additional staff: (a) have been, or are being, appointed; or (b) are proposed to be recruited, as a result.

Senator Walsh —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

(1) (a) Inter-departmental Committee on the Review of Atomic Energy Legislation .

Inter-departmental Committee on the Australian Uranium Industry.

Inter-departmental Committee on the Courses of Action Available to the Government to Deal with Atomic Tests Veterans' and Aboriginals' Claims.

Inter-departmental Committee on Resource Rent Tax.

Interim Council to Examine the Case for an Institute of Freshwater Studies.

The National Fuels Emergency Consultative Committee-NFECC.

The Australian Coal Consultative Council-ACCC.

National Research Group-NRG-of the ACCC.

(1) (b) Australian Minerals and Energy Council Sub-committee to develop alternative Commonwealth, State and Northern Territory emergency fuels legislation.

(2) (a) Two additional staff have been recruited to provide secretariat support to the ACCC.

(2) (b) Nil.
