Senator HARRADINE(1.48) —I move:

(7) Page 20, clause 32, lines 33 to 35, leave out the clause, insert the following new clause:

''32. (1) Nothing in Division 1 or 2 applies to or in relation to the provision of services that can be provided only to members of one sex.

(2) Nothing in Division 1 or 2 renders it unlawful for a person to refuse to provide to another person goods that are designed, or are intended, for use by members of only one sex.''.

A number of these matters have been clarified previously. I had intended, but time will not permit me, to canvass the question down the track of how this measure will affect persons involved in the in vitro fertilisation program. I have some fall-back positions with respect to conscience which I will advance later. Without delaying the Committee and hopefully catching up on some time so that we can have further time for other clauses, I simply move this proposition. Everybody is aware of what I mean by it. I guess we have debated the subject enough and unfortunately we are stuck for time.
