Senator RYAN (Minister for Education and Youth Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on the Status of Women)(1.14) -I endorse Senator Harradine's last remark. The amendments are not needed because they are not needed, but there is one exception. Certainly, his concerns about abortion and sterilisation facilities and all of those things as expressed in the amendmentd are not needed. I give that assurance. However, he raised in passing the situation of a pharmacist who would sell contraceptives but choose not to sell them to a single person. That situation is covered in the Bill. If a pharmacist decides to provide contraceptives, the Bill renders it unlawful to refuse that good to one section of the population on the grounds of sex or marital status.
