To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

(a) U.S. military and intelligence bases which continue to operate on Australian soil pose a threat to our safety;

(b) The installations which transmit messages to and from nuclear armed submarines operate with little or no Australian supervision;

(c) These bases make us extremely vulnerable to attack and a prime target in the event of war.

Your petitioners humbly pray that the Australian Parliament will, as a matter of urgency, commence negotiations for removal of the bases in the interests of the Australian people.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
