Senator DURACK(10.39) —Senator Macklin, I have subsequent amendments relating to changing the form of ballot papers which include the name of the State or Territory. As far as I can see, that is the only reason why the Chief Electoral Officer should be given the power to modify the existing ballot paper.

Senator Macklin —The Government has that in its amendment as well. So we probably don't even need this clause.

Senator DURACK —The Government's amendment deals only with the forthcoming referendum.
