Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(3.22) —I move:

That the Senate take note of the paper.

I have moved this motion because the Cocos (Keeling) Islands obviously are going through one of the most important stages of their history in terms of Australia' s association with those islands. I think it may well be desirable that in the next parliamentary sitting we have an opportunity to debate the issues which arise with respect to the future of those islands.
