Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition) —by leave-Mr President, I wish to make a personal explanation. In his usual boorish way the Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans) referred to me as lounging back and jeering in my usual way. I wish to make it quite clear that I interjected on the Attorney-General because of the extraordinary situation that we had him talking about the virtues of the public funding of those engaged in elections when he has just authorised payments for the Yes case and no payments for the No case. The hypocrisy of that, I should have thought, warranted interjection.
