Senator HANSON (Queensland) (17:30): I commend the government, the opposition and Labor on their stance against foreign donations; the principal parties now won't take these because of the influence it may have over their political decisions in this place. So I ask this question: what is the difference between receiving foreign donations and receiving donations from organisations, corporations or developers—for instance, in the tobacco industry, as the Greens have said? Will these organisations not have influence over government policy?
